Snarry Holidays Winter 2008 Masterlist

And the authorship of my story for

[info]togsos, Everybody Knows has been revealed!

Also, go see the marvelously humorous story that jin_fenghaung wrote for me, Once Upon a Fish!  Just be prepared to hold your sides!

1500 words--

in two days! I'm participating in WriSoMiFu this month. I'd really wanted to try NaNoWriMo, but knew that I'd crap out after a few days. But even I can handle 10 minutes of writing a day. Just knowing that only 10 minutes are required is enough to fire up the laptop and actually open Word. After that, I usually type until something interrupts. It's really like going to the gym: the hardest part is just putting on your sneakers. After that, you're essentially coasting through remembered moves.......

So, I'm working on my FF.net Snarry (Changing of the Winds) that I'd started back in the summer. I want to get four or five more chapters written and edited before I resume the posting I'd halted to finish my [info]snarry_holidays submission. Speaking of which, go there--they've begun posting, and so far, the works are incredible (and please, review if possible!). I adore well-written/drawn, challenging stories and art (OK, I love porn, but porn with thoughtful, thought-provoking plot is even better!), and last year, Snarry Holidays became associated with such work in my mind. I'm so excited that I participated this year. Posting goes through the month of November. See if you can guess which one is mine!

some writing and IJ questions

Just finished final edits on my [info]snarry_holidays story!!!! Now I can go back to doing the work for which I actually get paid!

Three questions:

1. Have any of you ever done NaNoWriMo? I was thinking of giving it a shot next month. Love to hear anyone's experiences on it.

2. Is anyone else having problems with the Rich text mode when posting on their journals? When I try to use it, all I get on my screen is a narrow, white band where the posting window should be. I've had to go back to HTML screen, and trying to code my link above, discovered that I've grown quite lazy.....

3. I'd like to hear from folks about their beta experiences. Do you have someone regular, are there types of writing (slash, comes immediately to mind) that they won't read, etc? I ask because I lost my sometime beta because his SO found my snarry piece, and immediately saw that it was slash (though there were only a couple of scenes buried somewhere around page 26 of 52--she had to have been fully reading the beast!) so he's not in the picture right now (now that I've finally gotten him to beta my slash scenes, sigh.....) Anyway, what is the best way to find a beta?
